Thank you for the info! Question: You say to do bedtime routine in same room as sleeping, but we were planning to have the baby sleep in a bassinet for the first months in our room then move to a crib in the nursery. What would you suggest for this? Possibly put down for first sleep in the nursery and then move to bassinet in middle of night after feeding?
Thank you!
Hi Megan! What I would simply suggest is that during the time period that your baby is sleeping in a bassinet in your room, you would do your bedtime routine in your room, not the baby's room, since the baby is not sleeping in there yet. This way your baby is getting used to the sounds, smells, temperature, etc. of the room that she or he will be sleeping in. Then, when the time comes that you are ready to move your baby to the crib in the baby's room, you would begin to do your bedtime routine in that room instead. ~ Jill Campbell, Psy.D.
THANK YOU!!
