Imagine this….. You have just given birth and assumed your new role as Mom. Family and friends are thrilled for you and continue to exclaim that this is the happiest time of your life - you MUST be thrilled. Although you know you are supposed to feel the euphoria, secretly, you are scared, exhausted, and wondering if any one else could possibly feel as you do. Intellectually you are well aware that breastfeeding is best for the baby and mother, but why is it so hard? Conflicting information abounds as you struggle to comprehend what is best for you and your baby.
Does this situation feel a little too close to home? The answer is probably yes.
These are some of the feelings commonly expressed during the daily mother support groups we have facilitated in both our Santa Monica and Hollywood locations. Over the past 30 years we have met with thousands of women who are feeling very lost and overwhelmed. Many of them find themselves in a city with no extended family, few friends who have successfully breastfed, and unwanted advice coming from everywhere.
At The Pump Station & Nurtury™, our breastfeeding support groups have become a Mecca for women seeking accurate information and a non-judgmental forum for expressing true feelings about assuming the daunting role of parent. New mothers have frequently expressed to us that these groups have saved their lives and allowed them to become confident and happy moms. Our clients have also repeatedly stated that “every city needs a Pump Station”.
In recognition of the growing need for Moms to receive accurate information and support from their peers and experts we have created a series of webisodes called Mommie Matters™…What Matters to Moms™. In this series, new mothers come together to seek advice, laugh, cry, make new friends, and gather the support they need to breastfeed their babies and become confident parents.
We have filmed these mothers speaking out on a wide variety of issues that we believe are pertinent to you. As we interact with these Moms we share with you our vast experience in consulting with breastfeeding mothers. We have presented a wide variety of topics which we feel will be invaluable to you. Regardless of where you live, you can now join our group and realize that many new mothers share the same anxieties and questions that you do.
We will be posting new episodes every week - so make sure to check back on our site regularly. We encourage you to share these webisodes with friends of yours both near and far. We thank you for letting us into your home.
All the best,
Wendy & Corky

This is great stuff! I finally understand SIDS and what might "theoretically" cause it.
Please make more of these!
